Back to the Present
The Daily News is bringing back photos of “yesteryears.” Each week, an historical photograph will be posted on The Daily News’ Facebook page. Readers will be asked to identify the location, as well as share a memorable experience of the location. “Back to the present” will then be published in the Wednesday edition, including a current photo. This week's Back to the Present photograph, provided by the Menominee Range Historical Museum, is a 1910 postcard of the Swedish Lutheran Church at 300 Iron St., Norway.
The Swedish Lutheran Church was on the southwest corner of Iron Street and Eighth Avenue. The postcard bears a penciled message on the reverse reading "Edna from Esther Ebert, Dec. 28, 1910." The church was later changed to Bethany Lutheran Church.
The second photo is a view of today's Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
