Florence urges residents to clean up their properties

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence will begin to contact residents who are in violation of the town nuisance ordinance. Violations will begin being mailed out in June.

Authorities are respectfully requesting that residents inspect and clean up their properties after the winter months. The material drop-off site at W3850 County Highway N will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month. This site is for large household items like furniture, appliances, branches, leaves and other recyclables.

No refuse, household garbage or demolition material will be accepted. For more information go to www.townofflorencewisconsin.com/2024_Material_Drop_Off_Site.pdf

Residents are also reminded to keep their lawns mowed and trimmed during the growing season. If you need mowing services, the town has a few individuals who are interested in providing this service.

Unlicensed, junked and abandoned vehicles are a violation of the nuisance ordinance. Residents should make arrangements to either license or remove these vehicles from their property.

Anyone interested in purchasing or removing these vehicles from properties should contact the town office at 715-528-3595, or email svanpembrook@florencewi.gov.

Questions can be directed to the town office or Chairman Tim Bomberg at 715-401-2607.
