IRON MOUNTAIN — No injuries were reported Thursday night after a vehicle being pursued by Dickinson County deputies crashed into the LaFaive BP convenience store on U.S. 2 in Quinnesec, Dickinson County Undersheriff Christopher Kuenzer said.

The driver was not injured, but the gas station did sustain damage, Kuenzer said in a news release. The driver was arrested after a short foot pursuit with deputies, he said.

“The incident still remains under investigation, though alcohol is believed to have been a factor,” Kuenzer said.

Further details were not provided in the release, including the time of the crash and where the pursuit began. The male driver, whose name was not released, was taken to the Dickinson County Correctional Facility.

The station was reportedly closed when the crash occurred.

Assisting were Iron Mountain Police Department and Kingsford Public Safety Department.
