Reddinger named to Commission on Small and Rural Colleges

Amy Reddinger

IRON MOUNTAIN — The American Association of Community Colleges has announced the appointment of Dr. Amy Reddinger to the Commission on Small and Rural Colleges.

Reddinger is vice president of Academics and Educational Equity at Bay College.

This key advisory body informs AACC’s policies and initiatives impacting two-year institutions nationwide.

The AACC Commission on Small and Rural Colleges plays a vital role in shaping strategic priorities for community colleges that serve remote or less-populated areas. Commissioners offer guidance to the AACC Board of Directors on policies, programs, and advocacy efforts aimed at enhancing student success and institutional sustainability.

Reddinger will serve a three-year term on the commission ending June 30, 2028.

“Dr. Reddinger’s appointment aligns with the important work Bay College is advancing in partnership with NCII on Rural Guided Pathways,” said Bay College President Dr. Nerita Hughes. “Her voice will bring valuable insight to the challenges and opportunities facing rural institutions like ours.”

President and CEO of the AACC, Dr. Walter G. Bumphus stated, “Dedicated leadership is essential to the continued success of community colleges and to our association.”

As part of her service, Reddinger will collaborate with other national leaders in community college education, including attending annual meetings and contributing to policy development that affects over 1,000 member institutions across the United States.
