Republic Fishing Derby set this weekend

REPUBLIC — The 35th-annual Republic Fishing Derby is set for this weekend along the Michigamme River in Republic.
Pre-registration will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Munson Park. Fishing will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. All are Eastern times.
A parade will take place at 7 p.m. today, with music running through 11 p.m. Eastern time..
On Saturday, Diversion will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight Eastern time, and there will also be a fireworks display that night.
The entry fee for the fishing derby is $30 for adults and $10 for kids.
State license fees and boating requirements are being upheld for this event. Cash prizes will be awarded.
A duck race is scheduled for Sunday after the derby, sponsored by the Republic Fire Department.
