Plane makes emergency landing on M-28

MARQUETTE — M-28 near Star Siding Road in Alger County was temporarily closed Thursday night for a plane that had to make an emergency landing after its engine blew mid-flight.
The pilot was able to land safely, with no injuries reported. Assisting at the site were Michigan State Police from the Eighth District Headquarters, Alger County Sheriff’s Office and Munising Fire Department.
State troopers brought the plane to Hanley Field Airport in Wetmore.
