GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Michigan Soo Line Steam Engine No. 730 Authority will have its monthly meeting at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time Monday at Solid Rock Church, 819 Delta Ave.

The original 1960 lease agreement from the Soo Line to the City of Gladstone has been found and will be discussed. Donation of Soo Line railcar 1887 Beams and railroad ties delivery will be a topic. A site visit is planned for November by the homeschoolers of the Community of Christ Church. Plans are underway for a Christmas event as well.

Those in the community who wants to join the group are encouraged to attend.

Donations continue to be sought for perpetual care of the train into the future. New donations can be made for the future Gladstone/Soo Line Historical Museum, as land is still being sought and building plans are being formalized.

Donations can be sent to the Community Foundation for Delta County, 2420 First Ave. S., Escanaba, Michigan 49829. Checks should be made out “In care of Soo Line No. 730.”
