Bay sets event today to discuss enrollment options
ESCANABA – Bay College will have a one-day event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time today for potential, new and returning students, as well as those still considering their educational options, to learn more about what the community college has to offer and the steps to enrollment.
No appointment is necessary; interested persons may drop in for one-on-one support and assistance.
Using a step-by-step approach, Bay staff will be available to help community members start or continue their academic journeys. Today’s one-day event — called “Ready. Set. Enroll!” — is an opportunity for high school students, professionals looking to enhance skills or people unsure about their lives’ next chapters.
Though Bay’s express enrollment, the team will help with the application and enrollment process. The admissions application is free, and there’s no essay.
Advisors will be available to meet one-on-one with interested individuals to explore academic programs, course options and the right path for each person.
Staff can also provide information on financial aid and FAFSA assistance to help potential students pay for college. During “Ready. Set. Enroll!” attendees may explore and learn more about FAFSA, scholarships, Michigan Reconnect, Community College Guarantee and the Michigan Achievement Scholarship.
“At Bay College, we believe every person deserves an education. Our admissions team is committed to guiding prospective students through what may seem like a challenging or daunting process, making it transparent, supportive, and as quick as possible,” said Jessica Beaver, director of admissions. “At the end of the day, we’re here to help students achieve their goals. We’re excited to host a ‘rapid enrollment day’ and welcome the next generation of learners who will make a lasting impact in our communities. It’s not too late to start!”
Bay’s winter 2026 semester starts Monday, Jan. 12, with new student orientation scheduled on the Iron Mountain campus Wednesday and on the Escanaba campus Friday. Admitted students will receive an invitation to RSVP for New Student Orientation.
With a mission of “student success, community success, culture of success,” Bay provides lessons in the classroom, on-campus, online, in the community and into the workforce for earning certificates and associate degrees, transfer credits to universities and workforce training programs that can develop skillsets and advance careers.
