Local blood drives planned

MARQUETTE — The American Red Cross is teetering on a blood shortage this winter, which could lead to a disruption in lifesaving care. Donors are urged to make an appointment now to give blood or platelets.

Two blood drives are planned in Kingsford. The first will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. The second will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kingsford High School, 431 Hamilton Ave.

On Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a blood drive will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 20 S. Fifth St. in Crystal Falls.

Make an appointment to give blood or platelets at RedCrossBlood.org, by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

Starting at $3.50/week.
