About an inch of snow was expected to fall in the Iron Mountain area today, possibly coming on the heels of overnight freezing rain.

Winds could gust as high as 20 mph today, with a high near 30, the National Weather Service said. Little or no ice accumulation was expected, but snow amounts could be slightly higher to the north.

The forecast for Sunday is partly sunny with a high near 27.
