Community sales kick off Saturday in Quinnesec

Thrifters, get ready for deals, steals and hidden gems as community-wide rummage sale season launches in the area this weekend.
Sales planned in the region include —
— The sixth-annual Quinnesec Community Wide Rummage Sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Participants have set their own hours, said event coordinator Phyllis Carlson, adding some sellers may be open Friday and Sunday as well.
She encourages shoppers to go to the Quinnesec Annual Community Wide Rummage Sale Facebook page for a Google map that will include details on each sale that has registered. The map will be posted Thursday.
Those who would still like to be included on the Google online map can register until 6 p.m. today. Sellers can send messages with address, dates and times of the sale, along with a short list of items available through Facebook.
Printed maps will be available Thursday at the Quinnesec Krist station.
The event currently has 28 registered sellers. “I know there are several others that are planning a sale but won’t be on the maps,” she said. “We encourage shoppers to make their way around and look for the signs.”
United Methodist Church, 677 Division St., will have food and beverages available for purchase.
— The Niagara Area City Wide Rummage Sales have been scheduled for Saturday, May 9.
This year’s Niagara Area Business Association invited participants to list their address and sale information under their Facebook page post promoting the event.
No official maps will be printed and individuals will provide their own signage.
— More than 100 area sellers are expected to take part in the 38th-annual Norway City-Wide Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16.
Any individual wishing to be placed on the map can register through Saturday, May 9, at Northern Interstate Bank or Norway City Hall. Cost is $5, which includes listing on the map, a yard sign and advertising.
Lists of participants and a map of the city will be available online the afternoon of Thursday, May 14, at www.norwaymi.gov and at Norway businesses.

— Florence County Community Rummage Sales are planned for Saturday, June 6. Sales town-wide will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Friends of the Florence County Library will again participate in the community rummage sale. As in the past, the sale will be at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Quinnesec Street in Florence, Wis.
The group is now taking items for the sale through May 20. Clothing and electronics will not be accepted. Items can be dropped off at the library or librarian Stephanie Weber can be called for pick up.
The Friends thanks their supporters who donated last year and hope they will once again be generous with donations for this year’s event.
This is the only fundraiser to support programming, purchasing books and media, restocking five Little Free Libraries around the county and other activities such as monthly craft kits for youngsters coming to the library.

— The City of Kingsford City-Wide Rummage Sale will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6.
Registration is open to Kingsford residents only. Participants can register online or at the Kingsford City Hall to get sales sites listed on the map. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, May 20.
Maps will be made available the week of the event.
— The sixth-annual Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Community Garage Sale Day is set for Saturday, June 13. Shoppers can visit local participants from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The BDP Chamber of Commerce will post more information on its Facebook page as soon as more details are announced.
Residents from any of the three communities who would like to be listed on the flier will be able to sign-up.
— The Goodman-Armstrong Creek Community-Wide Rummage Sale is planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, throughout both communities.

— The Bates Hall Preservation Society’s annual rummage sale fundraiser will be 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Bates School.
The society is currently accepting items for the sale. They ask for no books, records, CDs, videotapes, clothing or bikes. To donate to the sale, call 906-265-4771. All funds raised will go to the Bates Hall project.
— The Crystal Falls Business Association has slated the weekend of July 31-Aug. 1 for this year’s city-wide rummage sales event, in conjunction with the Humongous Fungus Festival. Rummage sale times are expected to be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants can sign up with the CFBA to register their address online.
