US 2 work in IM to begin Monday
A U.S. 2 resurfacing project in Iron Mountain is scheduled to start Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
MDOT will invest about $1.4 million to resurface about 2 miles of U.S. 2/Stephenson Avenue from Kent Street to Traders Mine Road. The project will include asphalt cold milling; drainage structure adjustments; concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk repairs; asphalt resurfacing; and pavement markings.
The project should be completed by late June, according to MDOT.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures with traffic shifts during the work. Milling and paving will occur at night, MDOT said.
