KINGSFORD — Anthony “Tony” J. Tomczak, 69, of Kingsford, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 9, 2018.

Anthony was born April 26, 1949, in Ashland, Wis., to Sylvester and Cora (Watland) Tomczak. He was raised in Bessemer.

Tony went on to serve three tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Seabees, whose slogan was “Can Do.” Tony was always proud of his military service.

He married Janice (Hendrickson) and together they had three wonderful boys. He was a practical man who owned his own construction and roofing company. He was extremely motivated and active and was always full of energy, yet he took the time to be generous to all. Tony was a longtime member of the Covenant Church in Iron Mountain, to which he was very devoted and happily gave much of his time. He was determined to live his life for the Lord and to serve Him in everything. He walked with Jesus throughout his life and taught his family to do the same.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Janice; three sons, Shawn Perfetto, Ben (Val) Tomczak and Craig (Stephanie) Tomczak; four sisters, Marge (Dave) Hanson, Sue (Ladd) Honkala, Kathy (Kent) Tenney and Joanne Tomczak; and grandchildren, Cortney (Eric) Pearson, Michael Tomczak, Sidney Tomczak and Morgan Tomczak.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain.

A service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Thomas Beckstrom.
