MARY PINTARELLI

CRYSTAL FALLS — Mary Elizabeth Pintarelli, 95, of Crystal Falls, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day and went to be with the Lord following a brief stay at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.

Mary was born on Nov. 19, 1925, in Florence, Wis., the daughter of the late John and Martha (Witynski) Brey.

She attended and graduated from Florence High School with the Class of 1943. Prior to getting married in 1949, Mary worked in Florence for the Selective Service. Following marriage, she was a stay-at-home mom and took great pride in raising her children with love and guidance.

Once her children grew up, Mary went to work at the Forest Park Schools, retiring in 2000. She took great pleasure in her work and loved her job, co-workers and students.

On Nov. 24, 1949, Mary married John C. Pintarelli and the couple were married for over 55 years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. Mary was faithful to her husband John and had great love for him. The two were inseparable and life revolved around them and their family.

Mary was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. She was a devout Catholic and believed in God and the power of faith. She was a member of the Guardian Angels Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered to help at church functions. Mary started the day by saying her prayers and prayed the rosary daily.

Mary was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary where she attended meetings and was active in various activities. She was a member of the Iron County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary and spent much of her time volunteering there. Mary was also a member of the State Employee Retiree Association (SERA).

Mary enjoyed attending Mass, collecting angels, playing bingo, gardening, shopping, making friends, cooking, going for walks, going to the casino, and spending time at her cottage.

Mary was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was proud of their many accomplishments. She leaves her family and friends with a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Mary is survived by three sons, John J. Pintarelli Jr. of Crystal Falls, Chester E. (Pam) Pintarelli of Crystal Falls, and James P. (Julie) Pintarelli of Shawano, Wis.; one daughter, Mary Louise Pintarelli of Crystal Falls; and her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Pintarelli of Appleton, Wis. She is also survived by one sister, Bernadette Brey of Kingsford; and four grandchildren, Danielle (Efrain) Kimberly, Jennifer (Marcus) and Nick (Amanda); three stepgrandchildren, Jon, Stacey, and Jamey. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Veda, Dante, Damien, Contessa, Francesca, and Camille; and step-great-grandchild, Tristin; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, John C. Pintarelli Sr. in 2005, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry P. Pintarelli in 1962 and Robert E. Pintarelli in 2019. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Sam Brey, Joe Brey, Bill Brey, Tom Brey, John Brey, Josephine Liebergen, Ann Gribble, and Janet Kelley.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.

Funeral services will follow on Friday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. Father Daniel Malone will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls, in the spring.
