Ronald LeGrave

FAITHORN — Ronald Andrew LeGrave, 83, of Faithorn, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at his home in Faithorn.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1940 in Stephenson, the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Robertson) LeGrave.

Ron graduated from Norway High School in 1958 and served his country in the US Army.

He married Karen DeTemple on Oct. 17, 1964, in St. Brunos Church in Nadeau.

Ron was a welder and worked for Inger Teco, Harnischfeger, Brothers Manufacturing (Superior Welding) and Lodal, before retiring in 2004. Ron was a member of the Floriano-Stecker Post 340, American Legion in Hermansville, a Faithorn Trustee for more than 20 years, township sexton for 10 years and a member of the Faithorn Fire Department for many years.

He was an avid Detroit Fan – Lions, Tigers and Red Wings, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting and watching his deer and birds in the yard. Ron was willing to volunteer whenever any help was needed.

Ron was a family man, extremely proud of his daughters, but nothing made him prouder than the moments he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen; daughters, Ann (Paul) Gurgall of Faithorn, Sue LeGrave of Hermansville and Lori LeGrave of Faithorn; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) DuBois, Nick Sexton and Holly (Blake Lindeman) Gurgall; great-grandsons, Timmy and Griffin DuBois; brother, Kenneth (Bonnie) LeGrave of Iron Mountain; sister, Carmen (Roger) Tomasi of Kawkawlin; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Walli.

A graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Faithorn at a later date.
