William “Bill” A. Romps

Bill was born on June 8, 1947, in Detroit to the late William A. and Shirley Jane (Schmitz) Romps.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Catherine “Katie” Romps; son, Bill (Chris) Romps; two daughters, Theresa (Kevin) Oliver and Lisa (Scott) Barinotti; seven grandchildren, Katie, Beth, Megan, Heather, Sara, Grace and Geno; seven great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Ron Romps, Tom Romps, John Romps, Mike Romps, Bob Romps, Jim Romps, and Pat Romps; and three sisters, Cheryl Stein, Diane Talford and Mary Carignan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Romps; and granddaughter, Rachel Kubitz.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., on Friday at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford, with Monsignor Joseph O. Gouin officiating.

the Church. Burial will take place at Quinnesec Cemetery with Military Honors being provided by American Legion Post 50 and the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to St. Jude Hospital.
