Crystal LaMarche

Crystal was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in Ironwood, the daughter of the late Frederick and May (Pellow) Marshall.

She married the love of her life, Willard LaMarche on Jan. 20, 1943, in Ironwood, and the couple celebrated 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2013.

Crystal and Willard moved to Stambaugh in 1953 and lived there for 50 years before moving to Norway to be near their daughter. The couple raised their family in Stambaugh and opened LaMarche Decorating in Iron River. Crystal also worked at Erickson’s Drug Store in Stambaugh.

Crystal loved to bake and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Iron River for more than 50 years, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

She is survived by her son, Fred (Phi) LaMarche of Northfield, Minn.; daughters, Patricia (John) Dedo of Norway, Kathleen (John) Pieper of Plainfield, Ill., and Carol LaMarche (George Hamlin) of Green Bay, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, Emily, Brian, LeeAnne, Ryan, Matthew, Rebecca, Luke, Chad, CJ, Lucas, Avery and Pierce; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Crystal was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laura; a grandson, Nathan; a great-grandson, Cal; and a brother, William Marshall.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.

Funeral services will be follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, with Walter Reichle, pastor of First Global Methodist Church of Iron Mountain, officiating.

Interment will be held at the Stambaugh Cemetery.
