HOMESTEAD, Wis. — Robert A. Lohr, 78, of Homestead, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson in Iron Mountain.

Bob was born May 15, 1945, in Portage Township, the son of Milton and Vergie (Wheeler) Lohr. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam before moving to the area in 1967. He was a mail delivery driver for the U.S. Post Office, owned his own rig and traveled across the country, delivering for Pepsi Co. and Miller Products. He also served as the road and parks commissioner for the town of Homestead. On Dec. 4, 1993, he married Carol Olsen at Immanuel Baptist Church in Kingsford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to camp.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Lohr, Roger Lohr and Charles Lohr; three sisters, Betty Hartley, Sally Largent and Donna Wonch; a stepson, Troy Olsen of Homestead; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Logan.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Milton (Kim) Lohr and Douglas (Jenny) Lohr, both of Milwaukee; three stepsons, Dennis (Sarah) Olsen of Cheboygan, Mich., Robert Olsen of Florence, Wis., Tony (Michelle) Olsen of Norway; 14 grandchildren, Allison, Cassidy, Araya, Cory Olsen, Jessica Olsen, Michael Byrne, Devan Olsen, Jamie Olsen, Montana Olsen, Jack Olsen, Ruth “Ellie” Olsen, Miranda Olsen, Bryce Olsen, and Tyler Olsen; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Logan of Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, with a 5 p.m. funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Pastor Seiya Asanuma is officiating. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6.
