CRYSTAL FALLS — Elizabeth “Jean” McInerney, 88, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. Jean was born Aug. 11, 1937, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late William and Lillian (Moore) Thorpe. She graduated from Alpha High School in 1955 and went on to attend college at St. Leo College, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting. NORWAY — After a courageous battle with cancer, Joseph “Joe” Roy Haferkorn, 83, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson, surrounded by his loving family. Family will greet friends on Monday, May 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at the church, with Father Abraham Mupparathara officiating. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
