It’s important to vote, take interest in government
Bouquets and Barbs
Bouquet: Now more than ever, each registered voter would do well to make your voice heard. At this recent “off cycle” election in the City of Iron Mountain, about 8.65% of registered voters turned out to place their ballot. The next four-year election in 2020 will no doubt show a larger turnout. Regardless of your political affiliation, it is imperative that we each and all participate.
One might want to consider attending the biweekly city council or Dickinson County Board meetings that are all open to the public, even if you do not have a particular reason or issue. You just might find something of interest there.
Bear in mind, we get the government we deserve.
At any rate, I would like to thank the Iron Mountain citizens who did vote Nov. 5. I look forward to serving you on the Iron Mountain City Council.
