Good deeds in area for Thanksgiving holiday

Bouquets and Barbs

Bouquet: Another great example of giving back to the community, Peter Monette, Monette’s Market in Kingsford, donated the turkey for the Breen Senior Center’s Thanksgiving dinner. The Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency added the mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, gravy, dressing and of course pumpkin pie. Some seniors do not have family and have no place to go for the holiday and appreciate a warm dinner. Seniors also were thankful for the frozen dinner Dickinson County Healthcare System had to offer and are looking forward to perhaps a meal for Christmas. We are so blessed to be living in a community that cares.

In spite of the 2021 pandemic, there were many reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving. A hug, a smile, transportation, a hat, cup of coffee, school child care, caregivers and volunteers for senior centers — the list goes on and on. Many worshipped in their own way, too. Perhaps 2022 will not be too stressful and God will bless America.
