VA staff appreciated
Bouquets and Barbs
Bouquet: I have to give credit to the incredible nursing staff at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Although short-staffed, these individuals work extra shifts, assist each other, and are dedicated beyond belief to the patients who find themselves staying at the VA hospital.
Whatever our veterans need, the nursing staff do their best to address those needs while they, themselves are stretched thin. I don’t think the staff get enough credit for the long hours, working off shifts, adjusting their family lives, and other sacrifices they make to give the care the patients need are recognized enough. They consistently demonstrates that they care about their job and the veterans they serve.
The nursing staff build strong relationships with the veterans they take care of and it is a privilege to come to work every day and see the dedication of the nursing staff in the Community Living Center and on the inpatient ward. From the bottom of my heart, thank you one and all. I see the dedication you have to your job and as a veteran myself, I appreciate all that you do!
