A blessing to all of the military

Bouquet A tribute to the old Kingsford 107th Guard — As a veteran and a 20-year member from 1963 to 1983, I give a big salute to the early members that served before me and those I served with. Most of us served at one time or another in a dangerous situation. I served in the 1967 Detroit riots. We had a small (because most have passed on) picnic at Cowboy Lake on Sept. 3. It was great to see old-school, trusted (have your back) friends who stood and still do stand for the flag and this country. Blessing to all the military. Job well done!

Never forget 9-11

Thursday was the 24th anniversary of one of the most harrowing days in United States history: the terrorist attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives here on American soil. The events of that day are etched in the memory of anyone old enough to recall the hijacked planes crashing into the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. with another airliner driven to the Pennsylvania ground by passengers who sought to foil the terrorists.
