Crime numbers used by both sides

This is in response to the Dec. 5 letter, “Is crime used as a political fraud?”

Fraud is defined as deceit, trickery — the act of deceiving or misrepresenting.

For the sake of argument, who runs the Justice Department? I believe that would be the person appointed by the president. That being said, should said president want the numbers skewed, it would be a matter of creative thinking. Sort of like grading on a curve.

The Obama administration had done some very creative thinking, such as their initial story in response to Benghazi.

I also noticed you didn’t choose Chicago for your example of a Democratic mayor improving crime rates and safe conditions in a major city. Could it be that it is because their crime rate has been consistently going up?

Numbers, story lines, statistics as well as polls can be skewed to fit a specific desired result. Somewhat like it appears you tried to do here.
