SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Lakeland University’s Miranda Jacobson and Rachel Stankevich both received postseason basketball honors from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

Jacobson, a junior from Felch, was named a first team all-conference selection. Stankevich, a senior from Goodman, was chosen to the all-conference second team.

The two received the honors after a regular season in which Lakeland finished 17-8 overall and tied for third in the NACC with a 14-6 mark.

Jacobson was picked for all-conference honors for the first time in her career following a big season in which she has become one of the NACC’s most versatile players. She is averaging 13.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 80.6 percent at the free throw line.

Jacobson ranks in the top 10 in the conference in free throw percentage (6th), steals (7th), rebounding (8th) and scoring (9th), and is one of just three players in the conference to average at least 13 points and seven rebounds per game.

She also has notched eight double-doubles, second-most in the NACC, and also added the first triple-double in program history on Jan. 27 against Alverno.

Stankevich is an all-conference selection for the third straight year and was named to the second team for the first time. She is averaging 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game this year.

Stankevich is currently fourth in the NACC in steals and tied for fifth in assists. She went over the 1,000-point mark this season and enters the postseason with 1,071 career points, 730 rebounds, 238 assists and 212 steals, ranking her second in school history in steals, sixth in rebounds and 12th in points.

ALSO: Jacobson’s 18 points helped Lakeland down Concordia Chicago 77-62 in an NACC tourney opener Wednesday.

Stankevich added 16 points with 10 rebounds and six assists. Crytal Falls’ Abby Nylund had 12 points.
