KINGSFORD — Marquette swept Kingsford in three sets to close out the Flivvers’ Great Northern Conference volleyball season Thursday.
Head coach Jaclynn Kreider’s team fell by scores of 11-25, 22-25 and 11-25.
“Marquette is a fun team to play. We battled with them more than what the scores show,” Kreider said. ” Unfortunately we just could not consistently get our offense running.”
Kreider credited Kingsford’s defense against an aggressive and fast tempo offense in Marquette.
“We have all the tools to be a great team, just need to find a way to play at our potential during every set,” she said.
Marquette improved to 7-0 in the Great Northern Conference.
Kingsford completes its regular season Tuesday when they travel to non-conference foe Forest Park. Marquette travels to Escanaba on the same day.
