Girls Basketball

FLORENCE, Wis. — Jordyn and Jenna Springer combined for 43 points as Florence held off Coleman 54-44 in non-conference girls basketball Friday.

“We did enough down the stretch to win with free throws,” said Lady Cats coach Brad Perry. “We were 20 for 26 on free throws in the second half.”

Jordyn Springer finished with 22 points, including 10 of 16 from the charity stripe. Jenna Springer had 21 points and nine rebounds, connecting on 13 of 15 from the line. Each sister also hit a pair of treys.

Perry credited Haley Behrmann, who netted four points, with a strong game off the bench. Madison Neuens scored four points before fouling out.

“We had some foul trouble,” Perry said, noting Coleman made just 7 of 20 free tosses.

Faith Neuens scored two points and Lacey Enders notched a free throw to round out Florence’s scoring. Enders also collected nine boards.

Coleman won the JV game 27-11.

The ‘Cats (4-5) will return to action Jan. 6 at Wausaukee.
