Kewaunee’s Tanor Bortolini has officially joined the Wisconsin Badgers, signing a National Letter of Intent this week.

The all-state offensive lineman-linebacker (6-2, 275) received more than 20 scholarship offers.

“Tanor is a great representation of our program,” Kewaunee coach Randy Charles told Scott Venci of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “His commitment to taking care of business the right way on and off the field is the best I have seen.

“Academically, he is at the top of his class. Tanor is a great example that anyone that puts their mind to it, and puts in the work, can accomplish great things.”

Bob McGinn, the UP and Pro Football Hall of Fame scribe from Escanaba, writes in The Athletic that quarterback Aaron Rodgers “was as below-average as below-average can be” in the win over the Bears.

“The Packers are winning games with him behind center, but that’s about it,” McGinn wrote. “If he truly accepted fault, one would have a hard time knowing it watching his actions and listening to his words.”

From Paul Polfus, Carney’s hall of fame basketball coach: “I play favorites when I coach and I give my favorites more opportunities because they have earned it. My favorite players show enthusiasm, look at me when I talk, hustle, show up on time, put in extra effort, always do what I ask, help teammates, tell the truth, never say the word “can’t“, never give up, have no fear of making mistakes, maintain a positive attitude at all time.”
