IM girls collect first ‘W’

IRON MOUNTAIN – Iron Mountain chalked its first victory of the season, tipping Houghton 59-55 in West PAC girls basketball here Monday night.

“Overall a really good game all the way around,” Mountaineers head coach Katelynn Grenier said. “I am proud of my team and their effort tonight. Everyone played well together and it showed. We focused on playing as a team and trusting each other to be as successful as we could be.”

Reagan Lundholm led IM with 21 points. Anslee Runsat added 17, with six rebounds and four steals. Claire Mongrain also reached double figures in scoring with 13 points.

“Lundholm, Runsat and Mongrain played a really good game for us tonight on both ends of the floor,” Grenier noted. “Mongrain handled full court pressure all night really well. I happy with her effort in executing the offense under a lot of pressure.

“It was a good first team win and we needed it. It always relieves a little pressure after a first win, but we are going to continue to work hard and strive to get better every practice and game.”
