FELCH — With four players scoring in double figures, led by sophomore Ashton Hord with 18 points, North Dickinson cruised past Bark River-Harris 71-53 in Skyline Central Conference action Thursday night at the Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium.

The Nordics improved to 13-2.

“I thought we came out with a lot of energy and confidence, with our great first quarter,” said Nordics head coach Kirk Mattson. “We played pretty solid defense, but I was totally pleased with how well we rebounded tonight.”

Skye Ledzian canned 17 points for the Nordics. Brianna Smith added 15 points, and sophomore Kassandra Cary drained a season-high 10 points, including three 3-pointers.

“Cary played fantastic tonight, especially rebounding the ball,” Mattson said. “Brianna played a great all-around game like she usually does for us.”

Grace Peterson led all scorers with 19 points for the Broncos, with Allison Richer netting 15 points, and Cara Zawacki chipping in 11.

“Bark River played well tonight. We had a hard time containing Peterson and Richer shot well,” said Mattson. “Overall, we played great team basketball. Freshman Micah Lindholm is gaining confidence and playing better each game. Hord shot very well for us tonight.”

The Broncos won the JV game.

The Nordics are off until Thursday when they travel to Munising for another SCC matchup.
