HOUGHTON — Senior Darien Craighead scored with 63 seconds remaining in regulation to send NMU to a 3-2 win over Michigan Tech Saturday night in the regular season finale for both squads.

The victory gave NMU (18-14-4, 16-11-1-1 WCHA) a weekend split with the Huskies and set up Northern to host the WCHA quarterfinals. The best of three series will see NMU and Tech rematch once again.

Northern finished the third in WCHA regular-seasons standings with 50 points. Tech was sixth with 44 points.

Game 1 of the WCHA quarterfinals is Friday at 7:07 p.m. EST. Game 2 is set for Saturday at 6:07 p.m., and Game 3 (if necessary) will be Sunday evening at 6:07 p.m.
