BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Northern Michigan defeated Ferris State 6-5 in overtime Wednesday in a non-conference hockey test.

In overtime, NMU senior captain Joseph Nardi tallied his fourth point of the game, and first goal of the night, tapping the puck past the skate of goaltender Roni Salmenkangas for game-winner. Nardi also had three assists on the night.

The Wildcats (2-2) ring in the new year with a home stand against No. 5 Minnesota State on Saturday and Sunday.
