FELCH — Bark River-Harris grabbed an early lead and held off North Dickinson 58-49 in Skyline Conference girls basketball Wednesday.

“Defensively, we had a pretty solid game,” said Nordics coach Kirk Mattson. “They’re the best team we’ve played so far.”

Ashton Hord led the Nordics with 20 points while the Broncos were paced by Kassidy Roll’s 16 points and 12 apiece from Morgan Cappaert and Allison Richer.

Bark-River Harris led 29-15 at halftime, but North Dickinson closed the gap to single digits in the third.

“We hung in there but ran out of gas,” Mattson said. “We struggled with their size underneath.”

Chrislyn Inglese added eight points for the Nordics, including a pair of triples.

North Dickinson (3-3) hosts Carney-Nadeau tonight.

The Broncos (6-2), who also won the JV game, travel to Forest Park tonight.
