Flivvers silence Gremlins, 52-24
Kopp leads with 13 first-quarter points
HOUGHTON — Kingsford turned in a strong defensive effort for a 52-24 win over Houghton in boys basketball Thursday.
The Flivvers were led by Brody Kopp’s 13 points, all in the first quarter.
“It was good team defense and a good road victory,” said Kingsford coach Dan Olkkonen. “We had a lot of people involved on offense and everyone got involved for us defensively.”
Nick Nora added 11 points, including nine in the second quarter as the Flivvers took a 37-13 lead into the break. Cole Bracket chipped in eight points and Zach Person scored seven.
Even with Kingsford’s defensive pressure, the Gremlins had no free throws.
