IRON MOUNTAIN — The 2020 Detroit Free Press All-State football teams, from Divisions 1 to 8, as selected by special writer Mick McCabe, were released Sunday.

Iron Mountain senior Caleb Evosevich-Hynes, at linebacker, and Bryce Pietrantonio at wide receiver, were both selections by McCabe to the Division 8 all-state team. Pietrantonio, a tight end for the Mountaineers, was the WR selection due to his production, and McCabe not selecting tight ends to his All-State squads.

Both IM grid stars were All-U.P. selections in 2020 and in 2019 as well, with Evosevich- Hynes being a All-U.P. Dream Team selection both seasons.

Pietrantonio was a first team selection at linebacker in 2020, and was also named as the West PAC Copper Division co-lineman of the year. Evosevich-Hynes was named co-offensive player of the year in the West PAC Copper Division.

Other area players that were named by McCabe were all honorable mentions. Junior wide receiver Zach Person of Kingsford, senior running back Nathan Thomson of West Iron County and senior defensive back Gannon Bray of Norway.

There were no U.P. players tabbed to the Free Press All-State Dream Team by McCabe.
