Knights prevail; Flivvers take first GNC loss

EBEN JUNCTION — Logan Parolini scored 13 points to lead Norway past Superior Central 59-28 in Skyline Central Conference boys basketball Monday.

The Knights got 11 points from Alex Ortman and nine from Jeffrey VanHolla.

Norway led 23-12 at halftime.

“We picked up the tempo in the second half,” said Knights coach Jeffrey Gallino.

Also scoring for the Knights were Mike Peterson, six points; Zach Seat, Nolan Amundson and Gannon Bray, five apiece; Drew Anderson, three; and Gabe Ochs, two.

Norway (5-2) is at North Dickinson tonight and will host Rapid River Thursday.

The Norway JVs won 61-24.

Menominee 54

Kingsford 38

MENOMINEE — In a Great Northern Conference boys basketball game here Monday night, Menominee had three players score in double figures as they powered past Kingsford 54-38. Cooper Conway and Brady Badker each drained 15 points for the Maroons.

Cole Bracket led all scorers with 16 points for Kingsford, while Aiden Bellisle chipped in 13 points for Menominee who led 37-14 at halftime.

The Flivvers fall to 4-2 (1-1 GNC) on the season, as they travel to Gladstone on Thursday, before hosting Marquette on Friday night.
