Niagara boys edge Suring, 37-35

SURING, Wis. — Niagara defeated Suring 37-35 on Saturday in M & O Conference boys basketball, led by Edward Swanson’s 11 points.

Nicholas Krueger added eight points for the Badgers, who trailed 16-13 at halftime. Ty Colenso and Logan Weber contributed six points apiece in the regular season finale.

Niagara converted just 10 of 21 free throw attempts, but still held an edge in that category as the Eagles made 8 of 11.

Rounding out Niagara’s scoring were Aiden Colenso, three points; Charlie Swanson, two; and Dawson Lincoln, one.

Taron Haak paced Suring with 11 points.

Niagara (6-10) plays at Three Lakes Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in a WIAA Division 5 tournament opener. The winner will travel to No. 2 seed Goodman-Pembine Friday night at Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School, for a regional semifinal game at 7 p.m.
