GREEN BAY, Wis. — In what was their first appearance in a sectional tournament as a co-op program, things didn’t go as hoped for Goodman-Pembine as they were defeated by N.E.W. Lutheran High School 88-46 here Thursday night in a WIAA Division 5 game.

N.E.W. senior Marshal Bukowski led all scorers with 24 points, while 6-foot 6-inch sophomore Tristian Lynch dropped in 18 points and senior guard Elijah Lange netted 15 for the Blazers.

Boone Larison led G-P with 13 points, while Bryson McVay and Lamarr Lewis each added 10.

“It was a tough game, N.E.W. is a great team,” said G-P head coach Joe Nutt. “Our boys played hard, they left everything out on the floor. None of them gave up and I am proud of all of them.”

The Patriots finish the season at 15-6, having won their first regional championship in co–op history on Saturday night, defeating Florence 78-69.

“We had a great season all around and the boys exceeded my expectations for this season,” Nutt said. The Patriots finished in third place in the Northern Lakes Conference, with two losses to conference champion Laona-Wabeno, and splitting matchups against Three Lakes and rival Florence.

Marinette-Oconto Conference champion, and Division 4 power Coleman was the lone non-conference defeat for the Patriots. Nutt compared aspects of N.E.W. game to that of Coleman.

“I am ready to get back to work for next year, we have a lot of talent and experience coming back,” Nutt said.

Lewis and Tyler Schnell were the only seniors on the Patriots roster this season.
