Hord, Nordics top Flivvs
ND pulls away in 2nd half of non-conference test
KINGSFORD — Ashton Hord scored 21 points, lifting North Dickinson past Kingsford 42-30 in non-conference girls basketball Thursday.
The Flivvers were paced by Christina Glodowski’s 13 points.
“A very, very good effort by the girls tonight,” said Nordics coach Kirk Mattson. “I thought we played with urgency and it was good to see.”
North Dickinson led just 15-14 at halftime, but outscored the Flivvers 16-6 in the third quarter.
“Our team defense was the key,” Mattson said. “We also rebounded a lot better.”
Mattson credited the Kingsford defense as well.
“They forced a few turnovers and we need to improve on that,” he said.
Micah Lindholm added nine points for the Nordics.
Kingsford (1-7) travels Monday to Calumet.
North Dickinson (5-5) will host Norway on Monday.
