WCHA sets postseason tournament schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The seeds were announced on Sunday for the 2021 Western Collegiate Hockey Association postseason tournament, which begins Friday and continues through Sunday, with the top four teams each hosting a best-of-three quarterfinal round series.

From there, the four highest remaining seeds will advance to the 2021 WCHA Championship, which will be held at the highest remaining seed, March 19-20.

The winner of the 2021 WCHA Postseason Tournament receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.

Pairings, locations and start times for the Friday-Sunday, best-of-three, quarterfinal round of the 2021 WCHA Playoffs (* denotes if necessary):

No. 8 Ferris State at No. 1 Minnesota State

Game 1 Friday: 6:07 p.m. CST

Game 2 Saturday: 4:07 p.m. CST

*Game 3 Sunday: 4:07 p.m. CST

No. 7 Alabama Huntsville at No. 2 Lake Superior State

Game 1 Friday: 7:07 p.m. EST

Game 2 Saturday: 5:07 p.m. EST

No. 6 Northern Michigan at No. 3 Bowling Green
