Norway athletes honored

NORWAY — Jeffrey VanHolla and MacKenzie Clifford took home the top senior athletic awards at Norway High School’s 2021 awards program. Team most valuable player awards as well as coaches selections were also announced.

VanHolla won the Quentin Nolte Trophy and Clifford received the Clarence “Towe” Castelaz Trophy. The awards are presented annually to the senior boy and girl athletic letter-winners who have the best athletic and scholastic record during high school.

The Carrie DeRidder Spirit Award was given to cheerleader Sierra Ryan. The Britney Kleikamp Memorial Award, also a cheerleading award, was given to Paige Sabotta.

The Raymond Bray “Too Strong” Award represents an athlete who showed the willingness to play strong at every practice or game, and battled to do all they could do. The football recipient was Zach Seat and the basketball recipient was VanHolla.

Three memorial scholarship winners were announced as well:
