NORWAY — In non-conference girls tennis action on Monday, Munising defeated Norway 7-1 at Marion Park.

Knights senior Kali Stanchina won at No. 1 singles for the team’s lone point on the afternoon.

“Kali Stanchina finished off her regular season with another win. She continues to show power and control and her intensity and focus are in perfect form for the upcoming U.P. tournament,” said Norway coach Cassandra Gustafson.

“Mackenzie Gilroy is bouncing back from an illness that kept her from playing the last two weeks, so this match put her back on the court and she is excited for the competition ahead later this week,” Gustafson added.

Norway will compete in the MHSAA Division 2 U.P. Finals on Thursday at Westwood and Negaunee.
