NEGAUNEE — In a non-conference girls volleyball matchup, Kingsford defeated Negaunee, 3-2 (25-19, 26-28, 28-26, 20-25, 15-12) on Thursday night at the Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium at Negaunee Elementary School.

“Tonight was a hard- fought battle, Negaunee is a well-coached team. Defensively Negaunee is solid and difficult to get the ball down against, we had to play aggressive and attack as they were not giving us anything,” said Kingsford head coach Jaclynn Kreider.

The Flivvers also won the JV match, 2-0 (25-16, 25-21), while Negaunee won the freshman contest, 2-1. Kingsford returns to action on Tuesday as they travel across Woodward Avenue to take on non-conference rival Iron Mountain.
