NIAGARA — Morgan Borchardt scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Niagara girls basketball team to a 51-43 victory over Oneida Nation on Tuesday in Niagara.

Borchardt recorded 11 of her points in the second half when the Badgers (2-0) outscored the Thunderhawks 30-20 to post the victory.

Mallory Sawicki added eight points, while Josie Rock and Abby Wells chipped in with seven each. Bailey Pearson scored six points, all in the second half, to contribute to the comeback win.

“It was a very intense and physical game,” Niagara coach Karl Lamoreaux said. “The girls hung tough and played really well in the second half. Oneida Nation is picked to win our conference and we knocked them off so I’m pretty happy.”
