Flivver duo receive GLHC recognition

Sophomore goalie Isaiah Anderson was selected to the Great Lakes Hockey Conference second team this season. Anderson, who played for the Madison Capitols during his freshman season last year, was the Flivvers’ best player this year, routinely making the difficult save look easy.

CALUMET — Two Kingsford Flivvers were honored by their inclusion to the 2021-22 Great Lakes Hockey Conference all-league team released on Tuesday.

Sophomore goaltender Isaiah Anderson was selected to the second-team and senior defenseman David Juul was given honorable mention.

Calumet junior goaltender Aksel Loukus was named the Jim Crawford Player of the Year for the GLHC.

Marquette freshman forward Kody Moyer was picked as the Rick Miller Rookie of the Year and Marquette coach Doug Garrow was named the Don Miller Coach of the Year.

The Flivvers’ 2021-22 season came to an end in regional play on Thursday night when they hosted Escanaba at Mountain View Ice Arena in Iron Mountain.
