Prep Softball: Lady Badgers let lead slip in loss

WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — The Niagara Lady Badgers plated three runs in the first inning, but host Wausaukee fought back in the middle innings to record a 10-7 M&O Conference varsity softball victory on Monday.

The Rangers got on the scoreboard in the third with a single tally, then scored four in the fourth, three in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Niagara recorded two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.

Abigail Richtig went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead Niagara (3-5). Aiva Champeau, Lillian Loukus and Josie Learned each singled for the Lady Badgers, while Abby Wells and Emma Broullire scored a pair of runs each.

Wells took the loss, pitching six innings, allowing nine hits and 10 runs. She struck out eight along the way.

Wausaukee outhit the Lady Badgers 9-5.
