IRON MOUNTAIN — For those seeking both fun and competition, there are several bocce tournaments on the calendar, according to the Dickinson Area Bocce Association.

The fun begins at Silver Lake, Wis., with the three-person team Bocce State Tournament on July 30.

Then, there are three more tournaments at the Iron Mountain City Park from late July to early September. That includes the Singles Bocce Tournament on July 30, the Doubles Bocce Tournament on Aug. 13 and the Lisa Lundy Bocce Tournament on Sept. 5.

No pre-registration is necessary. Those interested just need to be at the courts by 8:45 a.m., with the tournaments set to start shortly afterwards.

There also could be a fourth tournament at City Park. A tournament slated for Saturday was canceled, with organizers hoping to reschedule the event for a later date.
