CRYSTAL FALLS — There was a lot of traffic running through Crystal Falls on Sunday. But, it was on two feet, not four tires, as the Iron County community played host to the 41st annual Run Your Bass Off.

According to organizers, the event at Runkle Lake Park is the “the longest standing road race” in the Upper Peninsula.

Race officials announced that more than 225 participants took part in the 2022 edition of the event, making it “another huge success.”

Winners of RYBO included:

10k Female Champion — Jordan Holmes of Florence, Wis. (45:44.7);

10k Male Champion — Ethan Waddell of Cary, Ill. (44:18.6);

Half Bass Female Champion — Kristin Stacy of Crystal Falls (26:06.7); and

Half Bass Male Champion — Izaiah Tarter of Crystal Falls (23:33.8).
