The program, which offers opportunities for girls ages 8U through 16U from across the area to play at a more competitive level, was recently awarded a $1,500 donation from Mortl Motorsports, presented by owner Cody Mortl, and a $250 donation from Great North Bank in Florence, Wis., presented by Michelle Chartier, vice president of deposit operations.
As a newly formed nonprofit, Kingsford Fastpitch is dedicated to developing players’ skills on the field and also to teaching life lessons off the field.
The sponsorships will directly help keep program costs down for families and allow the organization to purchase the necessary equipment and resources to operate successfully, Kingsford Fastpitch board members said.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mortl Motorsports and Great North Bank for stepping forward to support our athletes,” the board said in a news release. “These contributions help us give more kids in our community the chance to compete, grow, and be part of something special.”

The organization also noted it continues to see support from people donating to the program and expressed gratitude to the community: “We thank everyone for trusting us to help build something great.”
Kingsford Fastpitch said it welcomes players from all around the area and looks forward to building a foundation for competitive softball while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and community.
