FP’s Fischer named SCC player of the year

Forest Park senior outside hitter Ava Fischer was named the 2025 Skyline Central Conference player of the year after helping lead her team to an undefeated conference record.
The Lady Trojans won the big school division of the league with a 9-0 mark. North Dickinson captured the small school division with a 6-3 record.
Forest Park senior setter Elsie Williams and sophomore teammate Evie Anderson were selected to the all-conference first team along with ND senior Raina Ledzian and Norway sophomore Kendall Burklund.
Munising junior Carissa Deatsman and sophomore Addie Bowerman were named to the first team as well, along with Superior Central sophomore Kylie Stuer.
Forest Park sophomore Harper Anderson earned second-team honors, along with North Dickinson senior Aubrey Applekamp, Norway freshman Addyson Burklund, Stephenson senior Olivia Cappaert, Carney-Nadeau senior Elodie Lenca and junior Paige Jardeen and Munising senior Hayden Bayer.
Special mention was given to FP junior Vienna Price and freshman Josie Anderson, ND junior Dalaney Steinbrecher, North Central sophomore Ella Mick along with Superior Central senior Marissa Strohm and junior teammate Rory Hancock.
Bark River-Harris sophomore Alayna Nault and Stephenson freshman Aunna Havelka were given honorable mention.
Munising senior Liv Cotey was picked as the league’s defensive player of the year, while C-N’s Lenca was given the individual sportsmanship award.
Forest Park’s Bobbie Anderson was selected as coach of the year, while the team sportsmanship award was awarded to Carney-Nadeau.
The Lady Trojans won the junior varsity big school championship with an 8-0 record and North Central earned the junior varsity small school title with a 5-4 mark.
